Modal testing with a pedestrian as a vibration exciter

چکیده

A novel approach, for identification of modal properties using a dynamic excitation induced by human walker, has previously been proposed to identify natural frequencies, damping ratios and masses. The developed approach is now expanded also estimate vibration mode shapes, thus fully characterising the behaviour structure in simple affordable way. Additionally, reliability method parametrically analysed validated against simulated real world data footbridge. Results indicate that, given reasonable initial target values with careful consideration number location measured responses, it possible all reliable simpler way than conventional testing methods: handheld impact hammer, electrodynamic shaker or ambient tests.
